The iconic characters - 3

Dear Sid,

“Wake up Sid.. Wake up from your bed and go to work.”That’s exactly what your father always used to say but you conveniently ignored him. Didn’t you? Ahhh..we know that you were not made for that 9-5 desk job. You were passionate about nothing but hanging out with friends, playing video games and sleeping like a sloth bear.
There was a major setback after which your life substantially changed like anything. Not a single time in your life you would have thought about that day but dude, it’s life and it fucks really hard. In the heat of argument, you left your place without thinking anything about the provision of living and straight away knocked a door. It was Aisha’s. Aisha, the most beautiful chapter of your story.
“Aisha, yaar aisi jagah pe rahegi tu? Mere chhotu ka kamra isse bada hai”
We still remember those words you said to Aisha once. Unfortunately, even chhotu’s kamra was already closed for you. You were standing at her door with wet eyes. Disappointed. Broken. Lost.
We must say that Aisha cherished your life like never before. The best thing about you is the purest heart and the innocent kid inside you. When Lakshmi brought all the stuff from your place, there was something which you were really passionate about but never figured out before. It was a camera.
‘Mumbai Beat’ was your first major break. Being an assistant photographer for such a cool magazine was one of the baby steps towards your goal. We still miss Aisha’s place, egg omelette, her birthday celebration, those awkward yet beautiful moments between you two.
Finally, it was the time to go back to your parents. Somewhere in this journey, we forgot that you were just Aisha’s guest, not even the official flatmate. While reading her article in the magazine, you finally realized that she’s the one who completes you. What else can be more beautiful than Marine drive, Mumbai monsoon and a camera. The journey from eating the pizza in dad’s cabin to handing him out the first salary cheque is really astonishing. Sometimes we miss that naughty, careless and cute Sid in boxers but we do love passionate, loving and mature Siddharth in formals.
“Rooh ka banjaara re parinda..
Chhad gaya dil ka re gharounda chhodke..
Ve malang tera iktara..
Ve malang tera iktara..”
